Kendall Update
The second picture is our rasta man playing the piano. I can not even tell you how much he loves to play the piano. He even sings along as he plays.
Kendall is now 2 1/2 and continues to amaze us with his itelligence each and every day. I can only begin to list some of the things he can do at just 2 1/2. I blame it a lot on his Montessori School experience, but like we had a very good friend remind us at Christmas it is not all his school. We have a big part of it as his parents in what he knows at this age because of how we work with him each day.
Some things he can do that amaze us at 2 1/2 are:
Complete Sentences (sometimes 7 or more words)
Ex. from yesterday morning: Frosty the Snowman fell down in the grass Mommy. (talking about a blowup frosty that he saw that someone has not taken down again)
He can count to 10 in Spanish and speak a few basic Spanish words that he uses each time we go into a Mexican restaurant. It makes the waiters very happy to see Kendall talking Spanish to them.
He can sing Frere Jacque all the way through in French obviously. He learned this at school in French class. He has French each Friday.
He can identify all his basic shapes-circle, square, rectangle, heart, triangle, star
He can identify all his basic colors.
He can say his ABC's all the way through and identify all his capital letters and most all his lowercase letters.
He can read Hat, Cat, Stop. If you go to a stop sign, he wants to spell what the stop sign says every time. He sounds out the correct sound of most letters.
He is starting to trace shapes at school using a pencil.
He can count to 10 perfectly and can count up to about 25 when he focuses.
He can sing the whole twinkle twinkle little star song. He also sings many of his own versions of songs.
He will eat anything you put in front of him most of the time or at least try it. He is getting very good about using his fork and starting to learn to drink out of a regular cup without a lid.
He is getting better about using the potty. If he would only tell us when he has to go. He will stay dry most of the day though as long as we are on top of it making him go every hour or two.
He is still sleeping great through the night in his big boy bed.
These are just a few of the many things he can do right now. They are the ones that are on the top of my head at least. He has Kasey's personality for sure. It shines more and more each day. He seems excited about his baby sister and knows her name. If you ask him what her name is, he will tell you Harper Lily.
One thing going on with him though-this morning he woke up and had blood draining out of his ear. We aren't sure if the tube came out or if his eardrum may have ruptured. He is not complaining or fussy, so we aren't sure what is going on. It was bloody again tonight, so it looks like I'll be taking him in tomorrow to get it checked out.
Baby Update
As you know baby Brown is a girl and baby girl has a name. Her name is going to be:
Harper Lily
I have not decided if I'm going to spell Lily with one l or two l's yet (Lilly)

Harper is a very active little girl. She kicks non-stop and I mean non-stop. She is also getting very heavy, or at least my belly feels heavy and it is getting kind of difficult to be comfortable when I sleep at night. I bought a body pillow today though that will hopefully help with that.
My mom very generously offered to make her nursery too, so I saved about $100+ on buying stuff for it, by picking out material and such for it. She has already made the diaper holder and the hamper. I'm doing her nursery in pink and Chocolate and incorporating several patterns of pink and chocolate into it. It is going to look very cute once it is complete. I'm also going to paint an accent wall chocolate and then the other walls a pale pink. I can't wait until it is complete and will post pictures once it is done.
Harper also wracked up at Christmas getting about 10-15 outfits to start her off. She will probably be well equipped with clothes before she is ever born. I think I may go broke actually.
Now if I can only get rid of the 6 bins of clothes that I have of Kendall's. I plan on selling a lot of his nice stuff. If anyone knows of any boys that need clothes and would like to pay a discounted price, let me know.
I go back to the dr. on January 21 for my 24wk appt. After that I should be able to schedule my 4-D ultrasound to see Harper.

A Holiday Update (Long Overdue)
he cut it down.We celebrated Christmas Eve with our annual whirlwind trip to Chattanooga. We spent some time with Kasey's dad and step mom, lunch and some time with our friends Frank and Brandi Mangan and their kids Emma and Alex, and we ended our evening at Kasey's mom for the Smith Family Christmas get-together. Kendall had a little accident at the family get-together when Nana Judy's fountain fell over and hurt his hand, but he was fine and we continued on. We got home around 11pm that night. It was a long day, but one that we always look forward too.
Christmas morning was spent at our house again this year. Mom and Dad came over at 7:00 that morning and mom had cooked breakfast. She cooked her yummy sausage and wild rice casserole, apple sweet rolls and scrambled eggs. It was very yummy. Once breakfast was over, we carried on with our gift opening. Kendall was VERY into Christmas this year and talked about it for days before and day after. He is real impressed that Santa is so cool. He even left Santa milk and homemade cookies this year. It was fun to start some new traditions with him like the Elf on the shelf (our elf is Winston and Winston watched Kendall every day), we read several different Christmas books throughout the season and of course the milk and cookies. We have given him a pair of Christmas pajama's since he was a baby on Christmas Eve and will continue with that tradition too. Christmas was great. We got lots of wonderful things. Kendall made out like a bandit as usual, so we are overcrowded with new toys once again.
We headed over to my mom and dad's for dinner which was wonderful also. Paul came and joined us for dinner like he does every year. We enjoyed our time as a family and yes Paul is family to us, since his is in CANADA. Overall Christmas was a great day. We can't wait until next year when we are a family of four. It might be harder to travel though.
New Years Eve was also fun. Mom and Dad kept Kendall for the night while Kasey and I went out and enjoyed a wonderful German dinner at Ole Heidleberg. It was good to enjoy a nice dinner with just the two of us. We don't get to do that very often. We came home and watched the ball drop in Times Square at 11 EST and then I fell asleep. Paul came over to hang out with us for a little bit, so that was fun too. New Years Day was spent taking down Christmas decorations. The house looks so bare now.
Wishing all our readers a Happy and Prosperous 2009! May you have many blessings in this year to come.
