It's Mexico Time!!!

In just 22 hours, we should be landing in Cancun! We are so excited. Here is just one of the pictures from our resort. We are taking two cameras and a video camera, so there will be plenty more to see when we return on April 5.
I think we are pretty much ready to go. We both packed last night. There are a couple of last minute things I need to throw in my bag, but for the most part we are ready to go.
Kendall is staying with my mom and dad for the week. I know he will be fine and in good hands and actually not even know we are gone until the end. For me though, I'm going to miss him. I have left him before for up to 4 days, so this is not new to me and we are going to call him throughout the week, but if you pray, say a prayer for us to all be relaxed and comforted during this time away from eachother. I'm not going to lie, it is going to be hard.
Well we will catch up when we get back! Have a great week and Happy Mexican Times to The Brown's!

Easter Fun

Happy Easter from The Brown Klan!!!

We have had a funfilled week gearing up for the Easter festivities. On Wednesday Kendall tried his hand at dying some Easter Eggs and had a good time.
On Saturday while Kasey was at the race I took him to an Easter Egg Hunt at Asbury United Methodist Church(Our church and where he goes to school). He had a good time there too.

Today we got up and went to church and then came home. Kendall got his basket and had a good time hunting for eggs in the yard.

This evening we had a wonderful Easter dinner cooked by my mom. She cooked a ham, potatoes, pineapple, rolls and corn. It was YUMMY! I'll leave you with a video of Kendall picking up his eggs. Again Happy Easter!

Race Time in Nashville

Well most of you know that Kasey is a big time race fan and is so lucky to get to help on a pit crew for the Nationwide Series at times. This weekend the race was in Nashville. Unfortunatly I was not able to be there this year, but Kasey had a great time even without me. (Probably more fun actually) His team did not make the race, so as he was getting ready to come home, someone from Kenny Wallace's team came to him and needed someone to help, so Kasey got the priveledge of helping on the #28 Border Patrol Car-Kenny Wallace. I really hope that he can help with that team again, and I can go next time.

Allergy Testing Scheduled

We finally got Kendall's allergy testing scheduled to see if he is indeed allergic to penacillian. It will be at 9:15 on April 9th and should last 1 1/2-2 hours. I also have to have another upper endoscopy that day to follow up and make sure that my ulcer is gone. That will be at 2pm.

A few more Portraits

Portrait time for the cousins!

My niece and nephew have been in town this week for a visit. We decided that it would be nice to get a picture taken of the cousins together, so before they headed to the cabin this morning, we did just that.

We got some really cute pictures of them together as well as individual ones. Eliza is 3. Kendall is 21 months and Paul is 5 months.

An array of pictures and News

Well it seems like I have neglected the blog once again. So much has happened since the last time I posted. We are still waiting to hear from the dr. about getting some allergy testing done on Kendall for his reaction. In fact I just put a call into them hoping to get it scheduled soon.

We have had some warm weather here in Alabama followed by some cold weather and some actual snow. Not much snow, but a little bit. Kendall has gotten to play outside a lot lately with the warmer temperatures and even help daddy clean up the backporch some. I was also able to snap a couple of pictures of him in the snow the other morning, just to really prove even Alabama gets snow every once in awhile(if that is what you want to call it)

Last Thursday I traveled to Birmingham to visit my dr. that did my surgery in September. I had a recheck and saw Dr. Childs since Dr. Perry has been diagnosed with cancer since my surgery. Everything is looking great and I got taken off all but one of my medications which is really nice. Now hopefully the 1o pounds that I gained from my medicines will come off of me. I go back in July for another recheck and hopefully will be taken off that final medicine.

Kendall is doing great. He will be 21months old on Thursday. I can't believe he will be two in just 3 months. Seems like we just celebrated his first birthday. He is having lots of fun this week playing my Eliza(my niece) They are here visiting from Richmond, VA. It will be fun when Paul gets bigger, so all three of them can play together. Tomorrow they are all getting their pictures taken together. It should be good. He had a little colision last night and cracked open the back of his head, but the blood was minimum and no stitches needed, so we did not take him to the hospital. He does have a nice goose egg on the back of his head though or as he calls it "egg". Luckily it was the back of his head and not the front, so his pictures will still be good.

I can't believe that in just 2 wks I'm going to be turning 30! Yikes!!! I'm so excited about our trip to Mexico though for my birthday. I can't believe it is just 2 wks away. Kasey is helping at a race next weekend(Nationwide Race formerly known as Busch Series), and then Easter. Time is just flying this year.

Until next time. Buh Bye!!

When it rains, it pours....see post below for it to make sense.

I guess when it rains it pours. I was up half of last night throwing up. I don't know if it was a virus or if I ate some bad food. Whatever it was, it did not make me feel very good and I've been kind of slow today.

And if that is not enough, Kendall was playing outside today in his sandbox. When he came in we noticed his eye very swollen and red and he would not stop rubbing it. Well first thing we thought was it was swelling because of his reaction to his medicine. But the more we think about it we think maybe he got some sand in it and has scratched his eyeball. We called the dr. again to see if we should take him in or let it go until tomorrow. She said it could be from the reaction he is having or he could have scratched it. We had to put some artificial tears in it and see how it is in the morning. If it is still swollen or if he can't open it we have to bring him in again.

When we put him to bed, it was very red, very swollen and very gookey. Now we think it may be turning into pink eye. Who knows, all we know is when it rains it pours.

Hopefully if I had a stomach virus, Kasey and Kendall don't get it.

A weekend trip to the Pediatrician-Our Red Spotted Dalmation!

It was not a normal Saturday for us at all. We had to make a trip to the doctor today for Kendall. Yesterday after his nap these spots started popping up. I called the pediatrician because I thought it was the beginnings of chicken pox. They told me if he got any more spots I needed to call them back. Well last night when he went to bed, I stopped counting at 50 spots. They were just popping up everywhere. This morning he woke up with many more, so we decided to call and make an appointment.

I'm so glad we did. Although he does not have chicken pox(thank goodness). The bad news is it is something called Erythema Multiforme Minor which is usually caused by an allergic reaction to penacillian. He has been on Augmentin for 9 days. He has taken this antibiotic about 10 times before, and we asked why it has happened this time. The pediatrician told us that a penacillian allergy builds up as time goes on. She actually had 4 shots as a kid and never had a problem. She got her 5th shot and stopped breathing. They had to rush her to the hospital, so it builds up and this type reaction does not come on until day 8-10 (which means yesterday). Now he has to go through some allergy testing to make sure that it is indeed an allergic reaction to penacillian and he is not to take it again.

We have to continue to watch him to make sure his feet and hands don't start swelling. If they do he is having a serum reaction next and something has to be done about it. He has continued to get more and more spots today and they start smal and then get large. The dr. said that they would continue to come on for 2-3 more days and then start to go away. Tonight when we put him to bed, they had spread to both ears now, not just one. They were all over his face and into his forehead now. His arms and legs are literally covered with them. Here are some pictures, but he is very wiggly, so we can't get a good picture to show the best perspective of what he really looks like, but he looks pretty bad.
