A visit with the Easter Bunny

Friday Kendall and I went shopping. I bought a bunch of clothes for myself. After that we went to see the Easter Bunny. Kendall again was not afraid and loved the bunny. The people at the mall that took his picture liked it so well, that they asked me if they could display it in one of their frames as an example, so Kendall is displayed in a frame at Parkway Place mall. I should have gotten them to give me the picture or a frame for allowing them to display his picture. Oh well, the things I think of after the fact.

Momma turns 29!

Yesterday was my birthday. It was a beautiful day here in Alabama-85
Kasey mowed the lawn, and we had gotten a trailer full of mulch, so I put down mulch in my flower beds-at least I started them. Kendall hung out with us outside most of the day. It was a good day. Last night mom and dad came over and we went to eat at Macaroni Grill for my birthday. It was very good! We came home and had ice cream cake and opened gifts.

Kasey had already gotten satellite radio installed into my car last week, so that was my gift from him. Kendall sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers to work on Thursday. Mom and dad gave me a gift certificate to Terrame Day Spa, that I will enjoy in the very near future. They also gave me a scrapbook, so I can start putting Kendall's pictures in it. Dad is making me a porch swing, although it is not done. He had to wait on his nail gun. He got that yesterday though, so I hope it is done in the next 12 months! I also got an outside thermometer. I can't forget the big chunk of cash that my mother in law sent me. It was spent before I ever got it that day and finally on me, not Kendall.

It was a good day. I must enjoy my last year of being in my 20's!

First trip to the Dentist-9 months old

Kendall had his first trip to the dentist Tuesday March 20. When he has had to take Augmentin for his Ear Infections, it has turned his tongue blueish, and then black. This usually happens after he has finished it or towards the end. Long story short, they consider this a reaction and he won't take it again. Anyway the backs of his teeth were grey. The pedeatrician thought it was probably linked to the augmentin also, but wanted me to get them checked out by a pediatric dentist just to make sure. I made him an appointment and we went on Tuesday. He was such a trooper. He didn't cry. He let them scrape his teeth and use the rotating brush that they clean our teeth with and he just laid there calmly with his mouth open. The dentist and all the hygienist were amazed on how he did. I just put my hand on his tummy and that is it. So the trip to the dentist went well and they were able to brush the grey right off. It could be a buildup from the iron fortified formula I have been giving him since quitting nursing him too. Regardless, his teeth are fine and he starts going back in 6 months when he has more teeth. He got a toothbrush and everything. I will post a picture they took of him too. Of course I didn't think I would have to take my 9 month old to the dentist, so I did not add him on my dental insurance this year. I paid out of pocket, but it was less than $50, so it was ok.

Nine Months Old-Stats and new Pictures

Kendall turned nine months on Tuesday. Every month is always a milestone for Kendall. He seems to do new things on his month birthdays. Tuesday he started to really try crawling. He has his way mastered. It is not exactly crawling, but it is Kendall's way of crawling. He gets on his knees, but most of the time lays on his belly and reaches out in front of himself. He then pulls his arms towards himself and scoots right along. He is very fast and can move from one room to another rather quickly. He now usually sleeps in his crib on his knees with his butt up in the air too. It's a riot to see. He had his 9 month well baby check today. Everything looked great. He weighs-19 lbs-25th percentile still, 28 3/4 inches long-75th percentile, 44 1/2 cm head circumference-25th percentile, so basically right now he is tall and skinny. I also took him and had his 9 month pictures taken at portrait innovations. Here are a few.

Last but not least-a Kendall Update

Kendall is continuing to be a really great baby. He shows us more and more every day just how smart he is. He has gotten his top two teeth now, so he has 4. He is in the beginning stages of crawling. He has made to up on his knees and rocking. We practice every night, and I mean practice. Kasey gets down and tries to teach him. It is a pretty humerous site I must add. He will still look at the dogs and say dog at times, so that definatly has stuck in his head.

Kendall will be nine months old on Tuesday! Only 3 more months until he is 1. Where did the time go? I look at it in a different way though: 3 more months of buying formula! That is approx. 12 more cans! He continues to stay stuffed up all the time. We are trying some nasal spray now. If it is not better by his 9 month well baby appt. next Friday, we are going to be referred to an EENT dr. Hopefully that will help. The nasal spray seems to be helping a little though. It make his nose drain at least and that is good!

Overall though he is doing great. Such a joy to be around. I have entered him into our local radios cutest baby contest. They will narrow entries down to 10 and then the listeners vote. If for some reason he does get picked in the top ten-you will sure be getting an email to vote every day! As of this morning there were 678 entries! But here is the thing, they have made an album with 39 babies in it on their website-guess who is in that album-yep Kendall himself!!!

A Beautiful day in Alabama

Well it is Friday and my day off. It is so good to be able to be off on every Friday especially when we have weather like today. It is 76 degrees today. I'm in shorts and a t-shirt working on some well needed yard work. My flower beds are so neglected. They got that way last year. I can't imagine why-maybe because I was 9 months pregnant and then had a newborn! Well when Kendall woke up from his nap, I slathered him up with some sunscreen and we went outside. Here are a couple of pictures from our time outside. I couldn't choose just one!

Kendall and his banana and some zzz's at the dinner table

Kendall ate his first banana the other night. He loved it! He is really getting into our food now. He would rather eat our food than his baby food. He has four teeth now, so this makes it a little bit easier to do things like this. He loves to pick his food up himself now too and feed himself.

Then this is what happened another night this week while I was feeding him. I guess he would rather sleep than eat.

#3 and #4

I'm sure you are wondering what #3 and #4 mean. Well that refers to Kendall's 3rd and 4th teeth. His top two teeth are coming in at the same time. The poor little guy is miserable. The only way he is not fussing is if we give him some ibuprofen, so that is what I have been doing since yesterday afternoon. At least #1 and #2 were spaced about 10 days, but not so much this time. They are coming in at the same time. He's a trooper though and we will all make it through this.
