First trip to the Dentist-9 months old

Kendall had his first trip to the dentist Tuesday March 20. When he has had to take Augmentin for his Ear Infections, it has turned his tongue blueish, and then black. This usually happens after he has finished it or towards the end. Long story short, they consider this a reaction and he won't take it again. Anyway the backs of his teeth were grey. The pedeatrician thought it was probably linked to the augmentin also, but wanted me to get them checked out by a pediatric dentist just to make sure. I made him an appointment and we went on Tuesday. He was such a trooper. He didn't cry. He let them scrape his teeth and use the rotating brush that they clean our teeth with and he just laid there calmly with his mouth open. The dentist and all the hygienist were amazed on how he did. I just put my hand on his tummy and that is it. So the trip to the dentist went well and they were able to brush the grey right off. It could be a buildup from the iron fortified formula I have been giving him since quitting nursing him too. Regardless, his teeth are fine and he starts going back in 6 months when he has more teeth. He got a toothbrush and everything. I will post a picture they took of him too. Of course I didn't think I would have to take my 9 month old to the dentist, so I did not add him on my dental insurance this year. I paid out of pocket, but it was less than $50, so it was ok.

Wow.. that's great that he was so calm for them. I don't know many 9 month olds that would be as accommodating. LOL
