Results of Ultrasound!

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!
Kendall is going to have a sister just like he said.

I can't begin to tell you how excited we are. Well I'm excited. I think Kasey is getting there, since there is really nothing he can do about it. Ha ha!

Everything else looked great on her and she was moving all around and throwing her punches and kicks at me. I could not feel them though. Heartbeat was 152bpm today and I have gaine 2lbs,so up 8 total vs. 12+ by this point with Kendall, so I'm a happy camper. Maybe I will not gain 50lbs this time around!

She is actually sticking her tongue out in this one. Already a little stinker!

Faced with another Ear Infection

Kendall has an ear infection despite the fact that he has ear tubes. The pediatrician said that the tube was very close and appeared to be falling out which is normal. They last 6mths or more, so almost a year is good. Unfortunatly that means that his ear did not drain properly and the crud he has had for a month now since he first had croup has stayed in his system and gotten worse and now caused for a nice big ear infection.

I on the other hand feel like a terrible mother in regards to this since he had been complaining off and on about his ear hurting since the weekend, but I blew it off as how could it and he is 2 1/2 so how accurate could it really be. He has had a fever off and on though since Sunday up to 104, and green snot, so I knew he probably was fighting something.

This morning when he woke up screaming is when I decided it was probably time to get it checked out. Well we left there with a shot of rocephin in his leg and we have to go back tomorrow and Saturday for two additional shots. Count me as bad mom of the year.

Kasey is also sick and left the dr.'s office yesterday with a rocephin shot, steroid shot and 10 days of antibiotic. I fortunatly (knocking on wood) have not gotten this crud that has spread through my family and my parents. Thank goodness since I'm 4mths pregnant!

We have an appointment next Wednesday with Kendall's ENT to check his tube instead of waiting until January. I anticipate he will probably be getting another tube put in, and possibly as early as next Friday if it is not infected.

A visit with Santa

Kendall wanted to go sit on Santa's lap yesterday, so we took him to the mall and luckily walked right up to him. He told Santa he wanted a train for Christmas. He really enjoyed his visit. Santa even played Jingle Bells for him on the harmonica. He got to shake a bell while he did that. It was a good thing we went yesterday because today he is running a fever and has another runny nose. Oh how fun winter time is.

16 week prenatal visit

I had my 16 week prenatal visit today. I'm not quite 16wks, but they are keeping me on that schedule. Even though I just went on Monday for my bladder infection, I still went back today.

Everything looked good. I had Kendall with me, and he got to hear the heartbeat which was 153bpm. He describes it as "shoe shoe shoe" sound.

I go back on December 17 to find out what I'm having. We can't wait!

Pregnancy+bladder infection=Not a very good feeling!

Well the title says it all. I have a nice big fat bladder infection and well I don't feel so great. I did get some antibiotics though, so hopefully I'm on my way to a quick recovery and feeling better again soon.

I was on my way to the ER yesterday when I called the doctor instead and they told me to stay away from there. They did not want me to come home with more than I went with, so they called me in some medicine. I was in so much pain yesterday though.

I went ahead and went in to see the dr. today because I was so worried about the baby, but everything checked out with baby. A good heart rate of 160 and a + on the urine test to tell me I do indeed have a nice fat bladder infection.

I have my regular appt. on Wednesday, but they said I did not need to come in if I was feeling ok since I went today. I'm measuring right on at 15wks and I'm still below my weight gain at this point with Kendall. This makes me VERY HAPPY!

Almost 15 weeks

The top two pictures are a bit blurry, but Kasey seemed to cut my head part way off in the others, so take your pick. Almost 15 wks pregnant. I can't believe in only 5 more I'll be half way done already.

At it again.....

Apparantly Kendall is enjoying making a mess these days. Tonight he emptied out the shredder all over the office. Bad, Bad, Boy we have on our hands. Should be interesting when baby comes.

Attacked by the fire ants!

Kendall thought it would be cool to go and discover a fire ant hill while they were outside looking at the colorful leaves on the trees at school on Friday. These aren't great pictures because it is kind of hard to get close enough to see, but he has about 20-25 bites on his hand. They are all filled up with puss now. You can probably see better in the bottom two pictures. Friday his hand was very swollen and red and covered with bites. Some have started to form a little scab, but most of them are just getting bigger and pussier. I think he probably learned NOT to touch an ant hill again. He's been a trooper about it though.

What?!

Apparently Kendall is not a big fan of his big boy bed these days. This is how I have been finding him when I check on him after I put him down for the night. He either is sleeping in front of the door where I can't open it, or he has gotten out the changing pad and put it somewhere in his room and laid down on it. This is tonight. Crazy boy! He is getting over a cough that has lingered for 3 wks. It was croup and I took him back to the doctor on Tuesday and he has a sinus infection, so is on antibiotics for 10 days now.

This is what happens.....

when Mommy does not feel very good because she is getting a cold and has a splitting headache, daddy is on his way to a race in Chattanooga and Kendall isn't really taking his nap like he is supposed to. He sounded like he was just playing nicely in his room over the monitor and I was hoping he would fall asleep. He finally did right in front of his door and when I tried to open it, this is what I smelled-baby wipes. I had to go through the bathroom door so I could get to Kendall. I guess the wipes need to be put on the top shelf and not where Mr. Trouble can reach them.

12 weeks

So there you have it, 12 wks today. Nice big belly huh!
Seriously it all depends on the shirt I wear. Some days I look barely pregnant and then some days I look huge as you can see.

Cabin pictures and just for fun picture

These were taken at the cabin today

Mr. Blue Eyes

Just for fun, Kendall wanted to go with Daddy last weekend on a trip.

Halloween 2008 Pictures

Kendall had a really great Halloween all around from carving our pumpkin to his party at school and then trick or treating. He really got into trick or treating this year. He loved knocking on doors and saying trick or treat. In fact he is still saying it.

We hope that you all had a very Happy Halloween. Until next year, here are some pictures!

Good Dr's appointment today!

I had my 12wk OB appointment today. I'm really 11 wks and 1 day though. Anyway all went well. We got to hear the heartbeat today with doppler. It is still a little bit early for them to pick up a rate, so we did not get that, but we did get to hear it and it was very fast and strong. The nurse said it was very good for this early and she was not even sure we could hear it this early on doppler. She tried to get it again and Mayfly had swam away from her.

Everything else went good. I got the ok to go in the hottub at the cabin, so that will be good. Since mom and dad only keep it about 93-94 degrees, I can stay in there for a little bit as long as I don't get really overheated and come out like a lobster.

I begged to get my gender ultrasound before Christmas and they are going to do it on December 17, so I should know if I'm having a boy or girl on December 17 if Mayfly wants to show us! I can't wait.

I go back on November 26-the day before Thanksgiving for my next appointment.

Kendall

Kendall has Croup! I took him to the dr. today after 3 days of the classic barking cough because I knew he had croup, and sure enough he does.

He is now on two days of oral steroids and warm mist treatment.

(Kelly-ask for the chewables next time Kate has croup!)

I looked back and Kendall had croup this same time last year.

Hopefully he will be fully recovered in a couple of days. We are looking forward to going trick or treating on Friday.

Pregnancy Exhaustion=Bad BLOGGER

Well I'm 11 weeks pregnant now and quite frankly VERY tired between working full time and being a full time mommy and pregnant, but I'm not complaining. That is just my reasoning for the lack of blogging and my mother in law kindly sent me an email letting me know it was time for some more blogging, so here is my attempt to catch up on the past month of events.

October has been a busy month so far and it is not even over yet. We took a weekend at the beginning of the month to spend down in Destin with my parents. We had a great time. It was short, but still a good time. The weather was a little bit chilly, but that did not keep us off the beach. It was not to chilly to be on the beach, just cloudy at times.

On October 14, Kendall went to Tate Farms Pumpkin patch on a field trip with his Montessori School. My mom and I went along with him that day and had a great time. I think the entire class had a good time.

My brother Geoff and his wife Shannon and their two kids Eliza and Paul came to Madison on the evening of October 14 and were here until Saturday Oct. 18. Friday Oct. 17 was Paul's first birthday, so we celebrated it with cake. Eliza and Kendall had a great time playing together as always. They don't get to see eachother very often since they live in Richmond, VA, so when they do, they have so much fun. We wished they lived closer.

Last weekend after Geoff and Shannon left Saturday morning, we headed up to Mentone to mom and dad's cabin for the weekend. They were having their fall festival in downtown Mentone, so we hit that and then just hung out at the cabin. Kasey went off and was taking some pictures. He managed to lock his keys in the truck in the ignition while it was running. Yes you heard me right. His truck was running and he locked himself out. $40 later and about 2 hrs, he managed to get it unlocked by a wrecker service. It was a good weekend to be at the cabin. It was the first real chilly weekend, so it was perfect cabin weather. They all enjoyed the hot tub. To bad I can't get in, but with me being pregnant, it is not recommended.

This weekend I'm at home with Kendall trying to get some cleaning done and laundry done while Kasey is in Memphis for the Nascar Nationwide race. He will be home late this evening. Kendall has a cold, so he has been a bit fussy so trying to get things done with him whining proves to be challenging at times. I actually think he is getting croup. I steamed him last night and that seemed to help.

As for me, I'm feeling pretty good these days. I'm still very tired. I'm 11wks now. I go to the dr. on Tuesday for another appointment. Hopefully we will know what the baby is by Christmas. I might have to wait until the week after though. I don't feel sick as often now, so that is passing thank goodness. I didn't like feeling that way. My belly is growing daily I think and I have started to feel some flutters this week, so that is cool.

So that is what we are up too. I will be back later to post some pictures of these events!

My already growing budda belly!

Yikes it is crazy how fast my belly is growing this time around, but it is. In fact that shirt I have on in the picture is MATERNITY!!!! All my shirts are getting to short. I still have a couple pairs of pants that sort of fit, so that is good. I'm doing ok otherwise. I have had some morning sickness this time around. I have not thrown up, but I have been very nauseated at times, but not all the time. The dr. gave me a prescription for some anti-nausea medicine though, so I have taken it once, and it really worked.

These pictures are 8wks 1day. Sorry about the quality. I took them myself since Kasey is out of town in Florida.

This picture for comparison is me at 13wks with Kendall. Yeah I know my belly is already as big. I guess that is what happens when you have had one already!

Kendall's new room/BIG BOY

We spent Sunday afternoon removing all my old bedroom furniture in one of our guest bedrooms and moving all of Kendall's new furniture into there. He now has a new room and is sleeping in his new bad. This is the third night and we have not had any waking during the night since the transition. He really loves his new bed. We told him the crib was for the new baby and he was a big boy now and had to sleep in his big boy bed. Mom also removed the crib from the room at her house, so he is napping in a queen sized bed with rails over there.

Our Little Mayfly

We already have our JuneBug, so now lets add our Mayfly to the family. I had my first appointment today. I'm measuring 7wks3days vs. 8wks. This means nothing but I ovulated a little later than day 14. All is well with baby. My due date is May 18 although the dr. assured me that due dates mean nothing. Since I'm so close to my original due date of May 14, anything could happen. Also the fact that I had Kendall a week early makes me hope that this one will come early too (maybe on Mother's Day) maybe even on May 13 making Kendall and baby 1 month apart in Birthdays. Kasey is out of town, so I went to my appt. by myself, but all looks great. I got to see and hear the heartbeat. It was 158bpm. I go back in 4 wks-Oct. 28. Everything feels so real now!

In the pictures above you will see:

The top one is the baby and the small area to the right that you probably think is it's head is the yolk sac-what the baby gets its nutrition from right now until the placenta takes over. The bottom pictures shows just the baby.
