Kendall goes BONK
We had a very intersting night last night. As usual Kendall went BONK! This time when he went bonk though, he hit his head pretty hard, so hard that we heard it. He seemed fine. I fed him his bed time bottle and he threw up, but not his bottle. Kasey thought he could have had a slight concussion as this is a sign of one. We called the pediatrician and they told us with his age, it would be best to get him checked out, so we loaded him up for his first visit to Childrens ER. Turns out he is fine. He was acting fine while we were in the waiting room and by the time the dr. saw us he was kicking and the dr. looked at him and said to us that he could tell us right now that he was fine the way he was kicking. NO bump on his head, no concussion, no more throwing up, but we felt at ease getting him checked out. We got home after 3 hrs in the ER at midnight. Kendall stayed awake the entire time. He has got to be exhausted. I know momma is! This was his first trip to the ER, and with him being a boy and Kasey being his daddy =) I'm sure it won't be his last. Bad thing about it is, I'm sure he picked up some illness in the ER and he will be sick in the next couple days with something.

February 13, 2007
Well tomorrow February 13, 2007 Kendall will be 8 months old. He has grown so much in the past 8 months in so many ways. Each day it seems like he is stronger in some way or another. He is trying to talk more each day. So far he has only said dog one time and he tries to say fish when we point to our fish and cat if we point to the cat. I'm still "Bob" and Nana is Na-Na, so I have told myself that I'm going to teach him that and she is going to be Na-Na.
Speaking of Na-Na. Na-Na is going to get some extra time with Kendall this week. I am going on a business trip with Kasey to New Mexico. This will be my first time leaving Kendall for more than one night. That night I was in town though, so this will be a good test to see how momma holds up without Kendall. A special thanks to Na-Na and Poppie for watching him for two nights. Also Na-Na has decided to watch him again next year. Good thing since I could not get him into Mother's morning out. Hopefully this will save some more germs, although we are on our way to the dr. this afternoon because he is sick again. Hopefully it is just a cold and not RSV again.
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. I'm going to miss Kendall's first, but Na-Na has written out instructions on his first V Day! Also it will be his first day of music class. He is starting a music class for 4-14 month olds. Should be interesting.
Well pray for momma on her journey away from Kendall.

My first real Word
This morning as every morning I dropped Kendall off at my mom's for the day while I go to work. We always sit on the couch when we get there and take his coat off. Koozie almost always jumps up on the couch to greet Kendall. Well we have been doing a little bit of sign language with Kendall. We have been working on "dog", so whenever Koozie or Sophie is around, we do the sign for Dog and say dog. Well this morning when Koozie jumped up on the couch to greet Kendall, he looked at her and with the clearest voice for an almost 8 month old, he said "Dog". Mom, Dad, and I all heard it.
So aside from Da Da, and "Bob"(that would be me) Kendall's first word is "dog"
So exciting! He may not sign it, but he learned to say it.

Finally "Ma"!
Well after weeks of being called Ba Ba or Bob or mostly Da Da I got called Ma today! Now granted Kendall always says Ma Ma when he is mad which is not that often, but Da Da is number 1 in his book for sure. Today though when I went to wake him up to go to mom's he looked at me and said MA. I know it was probably a one time thing and I will be Da Da again when I pick him up, but it made me feel special.

Sleep, Sleep, and more sleep
August 10, 2006 is the first night that Kendall slept in his crib. Before then he was in his bassinet. He has always been a good sleeper. When he was born, I had to set my alarm to wake him up to feed him. I went back to work on September 11, 2006. That Thursday September 14, 2006 Kendall slept through the night for the first time and has ever since. We always put him to bed by 8:30, but most nights it is 8:00. He has always slept until around 7:00 except days I have to work and have to wake him up. Well the past few days, he has been sleeping until 8:45 and going to bed at about 7:50! 13 Hours!!! Momma and daddy sure enjoyed sleeping in this morning.
The picture is from his first night in his crib.

Kendall's First Snow-February 1, 2007
Yesterday Kendall got his first site of snow. It is hard to believe he is already 7 1/2 months old! It has been so long since snow has actually stuck here in AL, so I had to make sure I got his picture right away I never know when and if it might snow again in his first year of life. I'm going to put it in his baby book for sure. A big Thanks to his Aunt Shannon and Uncle Geoff for this suit he is wearing!
