Out of the hospital and Happy!

I'm sorry we did not update when we came home from the hospital. We came home on Tuesday afternoon. Kendall was a trooper for two nights in the hospital. He was ready to come home and sleep though and boy did he. The afternoon we came home, Kasey had to leave on a business trip. Kendall and I took a nap. He slept for 3 hrs! He then went to bed at a normal time instead of 11:30 at night and then being woken up every couple of hours. We are still having to give him antibiotics. Tomorrow is the last day thank goodness. They are giving him the worst diaper rash ever. His poor bottom is almost bleeding it is so raw. We think it is a yeast rash and I plan on calling the dr. tomorrow. He goes back to the dr. for a check up on Thursday. Other than the rash he is doing pretty good. He is not drinking much though, but we gave him some of his zantac today from when he had reflux and he drank all his bottles right down. We thought that the antibiotics might be making his tummy raw. They definatly are not settling good-hence the cause of his diaper rash.

We had a good weekend though together. Lots of well needed rest. We had some friends over to swim on Sunday. Here is a picture of Kendall enjoying his swing at Nana and Poppies house. It's back to work tomorrow! Ick....

Oh and to top everything that we have gone through this week, my dad fell at the cabin last night and broke his nose. It looks lovely!

Kendall very sick

Just a quick update on what is going on with us. Saturday when I put Kendall down for his nap, he felt kind of warm to me and I took his temperature. It was 101. I gave him some tylenol and thought it was teething. That evening, it kept going up and up. It was up to 103. Sunday morning we woke up and he was doing a bit better, so we decided to head on to the family reunion that we had to go to. Bad mistake. We never made it there. Kendall's fever shot to 104 in the car, so we took him into the ER at a Children's Hospital in Chattanooga. They did blood work, a urine culture(that had to stick a catheter in). It came back as a UTI. When they took his temp the final time in the hospital it was 105 rectally! My baby was burning up. They gave him some more tylenol and a rocephin shot in each leg. His fever dropped, but still was hovering around 103. We came home and he was not drinking. He had 4 oz all day yesterday, so we called the dr. and they admitted him into the hospital. He is still there. His temp has dropped and he is doing so much better, eating almost normal. It did shoot up to 104 again this afternoon after it had been 99, so they did more blood work which came back a fever virus. They are growing out his urine culture to make sure it is nothing else. Daddy is staying with him tonight as I'm sick too with a terrible cold and got zero sleep last night. I'm absolutly beat. Please keep us in your prayers and I will check in when we get released.

Mother's Day

Today was a wonderful first Mother's Day! I got to sleep in a little bit later than usual because Daddy got up when Kendall woke up. Then Kasey went and got me some Starbucks(something I only drink on very rare occasions). Kendall gave me a very sweet card and tickets to see Broadway Cats in a couple of weeks. He will spend the night with Na-na and Poppie that night. Kasey gave me a nice card too with a necklace of a mother holding her child and diamonds that came with a picture frame too. Very nice! We went and enjoyed the afternoon swimming and hanging out with my mom and dad and then went and had dinner. It was a great first Mother's Day! I can't wait for many more.

Kendall is also 11 months old today! He was walking behind one of his push toys pushing it along. I don't think it will be long now until he is walking!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms who may read this!

Almost 11 months update

Kendall is really saying Momma, and bye bye now. I just returned from a walk with him. Daddy is not feeling well tonight. When we got home, he was saying bye bye momma. I had to laugh. He is also really clapping a lot now and he also shakes his head no. I think he picked that up from me telling him no when he is getting into things. If you shake your head, he will do it back at you. He is so close to walking. He barely hangs on to anything. He is also working on another tooth. I think it is another top tooth-#7, but his bottom ones look like they are popping up too, so I think he is working on 3 more teeth.

We can't believe he will be 11 months old on Sunday-my first Mother's Day! Last year I was just pregnant. I actually get to celebrate this year.

Trying to steal daddy's money?!

Kendall decided he wanted daddy's money. He went and took the cubs hat off the top of the money jar and tried to take off with the jar. Oh what fun he is these days. Fun and Funny!

You can't leave him for a SECOND!

We know Kendall has loved books for awhile. He will go to his bookshelf and get just one book sometimes. When he does this I read it to him and he just sits there and listens and tries to turn the pages. I was trying to box up some stuff today in our spare bedroom and this is what happened. He decided he would just take all the books off the shelf. Our little stinker!

A Beautiful day at the Garden

We ventured out to the Botanical Garden on Saturday. It was a beautiful sunny day. Here are just a few of the pictures we took of Kendall.
