Last Week and Weekend Recap

Last Tuesday evening after work we left for North Carolina. Kasey had a business trip to go on and of course the Charlotte race. I went along to spend some time with Tammy Johnson. We stopped in Asheville on the way there for the night at about 10:30. Kendall was done with the car for sure, but did great. He was just not comfy sleeping in his seat anymore. He wanted to be on his tummy.

Wednesday morning we got up and drove the rest of the way to Mooresville, NC. Kasey dropped Kendall and I off at the Johnson's and then he went on to do three business meetings. Kendall and I went and hung out with Tammy and the kids. We had a good time together and even got in a little sun while the kids napped.

On Thursday Kasey had to go to the track and I went to Tammy's parents house on Lake Norman. We had a great time that day too.

Friday Kasey had another meeting and Kendall and I went along for lunch. After his meeting we stopped into the world's largest furniture store to see if we could find the furniture I just ordered Kendall. I had not seen it except online. Well they did have it and we do LOVE it. I had them price it out since we were in furniture land. Much to my surprise, it priced out $500 more than what I paid for it in Alabama. I was so pleased and excited that I talked them down so much here. That afternoon we went back to the lake for some boat time.

Saturday was the race. Tammy and I and the kids headed to Ashboro, NC to the ZOO and had a wonderful time. The kids were wide awake all day and just loved every minute of the zoo. They sure did crash when we left though. They did so well.

Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

The Future Mr. and Mrs. Brown! Kendall likes the Older girls!

Packed in like Sardines (or Mexicans) The sun was on Tyler. Kendall even has Jadyn's bow in his hair.

In other news-2 wks ago when I took Kendall to music on Friday his teacher told us about a Montessori School opeing in Madison. We have wanted to put Kendall into one for awhile, but the closest was in South Huntsville and about a 45 min drive one way, so we could not see doing it. We have been talking to the owner/founder/teacher and met with her on Monday. Normally she does not start kids until 2 1/2 but when she saw Kendall and what he could do, she immediatly thought he was ready to start now. We have decided to enroll him. He will go three times this summer in June/July and then at least 3 times in the Fall if all works out with it. We are so excited! It is pricey, but not to bad.

Another interesting weekend at the dr....

It was another interesting weekend at the Brown's house. Kasey and I experienced the worst night of our lives since Kendall was born. He was up every hour from 12:30 on. He threw up once and had a fever that kept rising and rising. We finally called the dr. on Saturday morning when Motrin was not bringing it down.

When we left for the dr. his temp was 105.3. Yeah you read right. It really was that high! It has gotten that high before once(last year this same weekend) and he ended up in the hospital because of dehydration. He actually spent 3 days there. The dr. said it was just a virus though. He had no other symptoms. I guess the dr. was right because Kendall was fine yesterday although a little whiney and VERY thirsty!

While he was taking a nap on Saturday I did get to sneak out and order Kendall's "BIG BOY" bed and furniture. I'm not quite ready to move him, but wanted to have it ready when it is time. It had to be ordered anyway and will take 4-6wks. I got a great deal though! Laura knows how to bargain and shop around. We ended up getting it locally for the price I could have gotten it out of town. If I got it out of town though, I would have had to go pick it up. Locally they are going to deliver it to me. It was still pricey, but not as much as it could have cost. I also picked out some bedding that is trains. Kendall is really obsessed with trains. I found the bedding on clearance at pottery barn kids.

Grandparents-we used the money that you gave Kendall for Christmas towards this furniture. =) Thank you!
We are headed to Charlotte, NC for the rest of the week tomorrow afternoon. Kasey is doing the Charlotte race and Kendall and I are going to hang out with the Johnson's.
Have a good week!

Mother's Day and more....

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!
I hope all the mommies out there that are reading this had a wonderful Mother's Day. I know I sure did. My day started out by getting up and going to breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Kasey was so worried it would be crowded. I kept telling him though if we went at 7:30 when Kendall got up, we would miss the crowd and we did. I got a couple of gifts too, but best of all Kasey and our friend Paul worked on moving my fish pond all day long. We wanted to move it to our front flower bed because it was in the backyard, and we were afraid with all of Kendall's running around, he would fall in and drown. I'm so glad we moved it though. It looks so good! They worked all day long too. The begun by pulling up all my azaleas that were in there. We used the 4-wheeler to get them out, so we got the roots and all. Then they had to drain the pond and get the 5 goldfish out. They then dug the pond out and cleaned it up. They began digging in the front next and then had to make sure everything was level and then fill in the old area. In the meantime we replanted the azaleas too. Some of them are next to the mailbox, some next to the shed and one big one where the pond used to be. Everything looks great. Thank you so much guys!

Since they were so busy, we failed to even get a picture of Kendall and I on Mother's Day, so we took a delayed picture this afternoon.

And here are some pictures of the pond in progress.

A fun Spring Day

I had to take off work today because mom and dad went to Richmond to my nephews baptism that is Sunday. Unfortunatly I was not able to go.

This morning Kendall went to the dentist. This is his 3rd time going to the dentist actually. He did so good. I'm SO Proud of him. He didn't fuss at all. They kept commenting on how good he was being for his age. We have noticed some staining on his teeth like there was the first time he went. He is being really bad about us brushing his teeth too, so I didn't know how it would be today at the dentist. They actually got to clean his teeth though and the staining came right off. They said it is very normal for little ones to get this staining and they have acutally seen kids who have come in with black teeth that are stained and there is nothing wrong. They aren't cavaties. It did come off though and his teeth are nice and white again. It could be from the blueberry waffles he is eating, but we don't know. Soon he can start to use a little bit of real toothpaste, so that may help too. I also picked up a rotating brush like the dentist has and hopefully that may help too.

While we were out, we stopped at Walmart and I got him a blow up pool. I let him go in it before his nap. He really had a good time. He is learning to drink from a cup, so he took his boat and was trying to drink from it. He also was brave and tried sticking his face in the water. I tried to teach him to blow bubbles, but all he did was swallow a mouth full of water. He starts swim lessons in 3 weeks, so hopefully that will help. The funniest part to it all-those swim trunks and shirt are from last year. They are huge on him and only 12mth. My little petite boy!

Here are some pictures from his fun time in the pool and a video of him drinking from his boat.

Another Busy Weekend

Well it was another busy weekend in the Brown household.

Friday Kendall and I went to music class and then on to the Botanical Garden before the rain would keep us inside and couped up. We all know that we don't like to be couped up in the house with an almost 2 yr old! We had a fun time at the garden walking around, seeing the dinosaurs and looking at the butterflies. While there we ran into Leah and Telah. I had never met Telah, so it was good to finally meet her. We all read each others blogs, but never really see eachother. Of course mommy forgot her camera, so I did not get any pictures.

While we were busy at the garden, Kasey was at another race. This time it was in Richmond, VA. He was in Talladega last weekend. While in Talladega last weekend, he was with Johnny Davis racing as the rear tire changer for the Racegirl Motorsports #01 of Kertus Davis. The car started 21st and finished 12th. Friday night in Richmond, he was back again with Jay Robinson Racing as a crewmember on the #28 Border Patorl car of Kenny Wallace and the #4 JVC/Checkers car of Robert Richardson Jr.. Rear tire changer on the #4 car started 42nd and finished 34th. He is really loving this racing stuff. He has promised me though he will stay home this weekend since it is Mother's Day! When Kasey got home on Saturday morning, we ate lunch and got a truck full of mulch. I was very busy shoveling mulch. I emptied out the entire truck by myself while Kasey and Kendall took a nap. We had dinner at Red Robin and then we rode the carousel at Bridgestreet. Even mommy and daddy had fun on the carousel.

Here are some pictures from Talladega and Richmond.

Sunday we decided to go back to the Botanical Garden, since it was a nice day and did not want to just be couped up in the house. We had a picnic lunch and then walked around. We took Kendall's wagon with us, so we pulled him around the garden. Here are some pictures from our day at the garden.

We think that Kendall is going through a growth spurt. He is eating us out of this house. This morning he and Kasey went and got McDonald's while I slept a little longer. Kasey got him hotcakes and he ate two full size hotcakes and a 1/2 of hashbrown. For dinner he had ribs, veggies, 2 glasses of milk, a individual applesauce, and a half of banana. This kid is not even TWO and eating this much. At this rate, he might hit 30 lbs by the time he is two.

In other news, I have to report some very sad news. My wonderful Pelvic Pain doctor who did such an extensive surgery on me in September and has made me pain free for almost a year now was diagnosed with a very rare form of lung cancer(germ cell-not normally found in the lungs) the first week in February. Dr. Perry had two rounds of chemo to only learn that his tumor had grown. He has a blog that I get updates on daily. He chose to stop treatment about 2-3 wks ago and to go home to be with his family during his final days. Dr. Perry passed away yesterday morning. He was 62 years old. Fortunatly there is another dr. that was in my surgery also. They make you rotate dr.'s and I have seen Dr. Child's and he is very knowledgeable also, but it just breaks my heart that Dr. Perry has passed. Just 3 short months after being diagnosed.
