Curious

So I'm kind of curious on who all reads my blog. If you read it, leave me a comment. I'm just kind of curious.

=)

Post Op appointment

I had my post op appointment this morning in Birmingham. I had to be there at 9, so that meant getting up real early. I was on the road at 6:30 incase of traffic.

I got to the office at about 8:30 and Dr. Perry was out of surgery, so they went ahead and took me back before he went into surgery again.

Everything looks good. My incisions are healing nicely. He explained my pictures to me again, now that I'm coherant.

I go back to work on Monday. My hernia still has some healing to do, so no lifting over 10lbs for another 4 weeks. Every day that goes by, it gets harder and harder not being able to lift Kendall. I miss him so much.

I got a call yesterday to tell me that a urine culture that they took last week came back with a lot of bacteria in it. This explains part of the reason I have been having pretty bad bladder spasms for about 3 days now. I'm on an antibiotic again though, so things will get better soon. (I HOPE)

Other than that, no more news about me.

Kendall has a new word-BOOK! It sounds like bookka when he says it though.

Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Today September 18, 2007 marks Kasey and I's 3rd Anniversary! Happy Anniversary Baby! It is hard to believe that three years has gone by already. It has been a wonderful three years, and we have so much to show for our marriage. I'd probably say that Kendall is the most special gift of our marriage thus far. I can't wait for the next years to come. Happy Anniversary again! Here are some of my favorite pictures from our Wedding Day!

Surgery-Warning! Graphic Photos

I'm 3 days post surgery and still very very sore. These are pretty graphic photos, so look at your own risk.
I was scheduled for surgery Wednesday at noon. They didn't actually come get me until 1:30. Dr. Perry told us average time would be 2 1/2 hrs. 3 1/2-4 hours later he came out to speak to Kasey, so it was much longer than expected. It is also going to be a longer recovery than expected. I can't drive for 2 weeks. I also can't lift anything over 10lbs (meaning Kendall) for six weeks. I'm not real excited about that part and I'm already missing him, but I have to do what is best for my body. They let me go home Thursday about 5 pm but I don't think they wanted me too. I could not eliminate after the catheter and had to a certain amount before I could leave. They sent me home with a self catheter to use if needed. I'm still having a bit of a problem. It just takes a long time. I can do it though.
Anyway here are some photos of what they found and I will explain as much as I can remember(if you ask Kasey, that is not much) I'm staying pretty doped up on pain meds.

These two photos are of my bladder. As you can see in the photo on the right, it shows my bladder bleeding. My bladder should hold 1200 ml and mine is only holding 900ml due to Intersticial Cystitis.

These two photos show a detached left fallopian tube. When my left ovary was taken out, this was left behind and it was not attached to anything, so they went ahead and took it out. I still have my right one and my right ovary, so that is all I need.

This photo shows Pelvic Congestion Syndrome-Basically a vericose vein that shows up in your pelvic region.
These photos show a right sciatica hernia (the cause of me not able to lift for 6 weeks)

Surgery #2-Warning! Graphic Photos

This photo shows an area they sent off for biopsy, but they think it is a remnant of my left ovary when it was removed.

This photo shows my right ovary covered with adhesions and scar tissue.

This photo shows my right fallopian tube.

These two photos show my hernia repair.

Final Surgery photos and my swollen belly=Warning! Graphic Photos

These two photos show my uterus uplift. It is now in a normal position.

My bladder was also tacked up. As you can see, I went through some pretty major surgery here and I'm in a lot of pain.

This is my beautiful belly 2 days post surgery. I seem to look about 6 months pregnant again.

Back from vacation and Upcoming surgery

What a fun time had by all in Destin last week. A BIG thanks to Judy and Joe for all they did for us to make a wonderful vacation. I'm sure everyone in the picture can tell you the same thing. The three of us went to the beach with our white shirts and khaki pants hoping to get a great family picture. Kasey wanted to get one of everyone together, so we asked them if they had white shirts and khaki pants or shorts, and believe it or not they all did.
I think some of us if not all of us are sad to be back home in the real world, but I think part of wishes we were at the beach and part of us is glad we are back.
Tomorrow is my big surgery day. I have to be there at 10 for a noon surgery. They tell me it should take about 2 1/2 hrs. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I never used to get nervous about surgery until I had Kendall. I don't know if I'm just scared I will never see him again or what. I know everything will be fine just like always. I'm nervous about the pain afterwards even though I have had this type of surgery 4 times already. I just know it hurts. I will update the blog with my progress as soon as I can.
